Denver Handicrafts for a Cause

fiber friends is an art cooperative that produces mostly fiber goods and zines. We are dedicated to providing art classes at self-determined sliding-scale pricing, including free options for those who need it. We wholeheartedly believe that everyone, old and young, regardless of income, should have access to art education and third spaces. Currently, we are a mobile operation with most classes held at branches of Denver Public Library, but we dream of turning this small cooperative into a brick-and-mortar someday.

Founder

Kit B (he/they)

Kit is a Denver-based figure model who teaches crochet, zine making, poetry, and creative writing. He started fiber friends as a network of fiber artists committed to producing free hats, scarves, socks, and gloves for Denver community members in need of warm clothing to survive the cold winters, but quickly found that folks were in want/need of art/handicraft education. Since then, Kit has been gathering resources to open fiber friends as a cooperative of artists/handicrafters committed to affordable and free classes. He believes that art is for all, and that affordable/free third spaces are necessary for community building.
